Project Description
Advocacy and Community Mobilization Program
The marginalization faced by PWD has naturally left their voices out of key discussions and public debates on issues related to disability. As a result, their potential for engaging in cultural and socio-economic development is limited; their achievements and creativity are obscured by stigma or, at best, stories of victimization. Social stigma and negative attitudes towards people with disabilities, in addition to limited social awareness about the potential and talents of these individuals, further exacerbate their isolation and marginalization.
Through the arts we aim to raise awareness about the challenges facing PWD and their families by establishing and maintaining dialogue with policymakers on issues related to disability. We do this by:
- Organizing lobbying and advocacy campaigns targeting decision-makers and policy influencers.
- Community mobilization and public awareness campaigns through the arts
