Changing how society sees and includes persons with disabilities is at the heart of everything Art to Heart does. Through awareness campaigns, arts-based advocacy, and community engagement, we challenge ableism and advance disability justice – the belief that persons with disabilities deserve not just rights on paper, but full and equal participation in every aspect of social, cultural, and economic life. In the Palestinian context, where disability is often compounded by occupation and systemic exclusion, this work is not optional – it is essential.
-Awareness and Advocacy Campaigns Face-to-face and digital campaigns on disability rights, inclusion, and justice – reaching schools, universities, community centers, and the broader public across the northern West Bank.
-International Disability Days Events Inclusive activities and awareness events marking World Autism Day, World Down Syndrome Day, and the International Day of Persons with Disabilities – bringing communities together around visibility, dignity, equity and rights.
Arts-Based Advocacy Video productions, and different forms of art productions that tell the success stories of persons with disabilities – shifting public narratives from pity to pride.
-Community Engagement Meetings and dialogue sessions with families of persons with disabilities and community stakeholders – building understanding, reducing stigma, and strengthening the social fabric around inclusion.
-Showcasing Creative Work Exhibitions, publications, and digital platforms that bring the artwork and creative production of persons with disabilities to wider audiences — celebrating their talent and challenging ableist narratives in Palestinian society.
